Natalie Oltermann

Natalie loved printmaking in college and directed herself toward teaching the art to youth. She decided to get a mini when I pointed out its benefits for teaching as well as a serious art instrument. No. 50—a purple heart model—the end of my 2004-2009 Mini series.

She sent the snapshot, left, she made after she got it, showing the little book and box.

Natalie's press is included in the 12-page calendar I made, along with others that were delivered in 2009. It's on YouTube, left. You may notice the page for Natalie's is different because I had not yet receieved her excellant snapshot. It's a trial proof calendar in the video. You can buy the catalog with PayPal:

Within weeks of getting her press, Natalie sent some snapshots, including an early trial proof. It's a soft ground etching, with chine-colle colors.

She also sent a video to help me solve a problem that came up. (BKG: Still shot of Natalie showing the problem.)

Natalie sent the Christmas card, right, made from a soft-ground plate she got by running actual butterfly wing in the ground. The print also has chine-colle gold foil in it.

I scanned the card - sorry some of the detail was lost in this version.
