Deborah Horrell

Deborah retired from teaching college art, moved to Portland, and decided to add printmaking to her glass studio. She ordered a press after she saw Mark Mahaffey’s Mini, planning to incorporate glass etching (vitreography) in her work. A few months later she showed her prints in her Seattle show.

She ordered Mini Halfwood Press #44 in 2008 and took delivery in 2009.

Deborah was the first person to get her press in the 2009 series, and so hers is in the 2010 Halfwood Press Catalog. The YouTube video presentation at the left is of the catalog's first trial proof. I was able to paste more into the final image. You can buy the calendar:

From Deborah's Web site I found a link to an Oregon Public Broadcast program about her glass art - a truly beautiful production. The still is from the broadcast. Click on the image to get to the video.

At left is one of the glass pieces from her 2009 show in Seattle, you may be able to see the similarity in the image in her glass art to the art of printmaking. The image is from her Web site.

I put all twelve pages on the Halfwood Press Website and all the information you need to decide to add this special calendar to your collection. It's a keeper! Click here.
