Walt Bailey

Walt put on a show that included his own Mini Halfwood Press with its box.

Two visitors to a demonstration at Daniel Smith Inc. bought Bill Ritchie's book, Halfwood Press-The Story and sent it to their friend Walt, in Kansas. Bailey liked the tale and invited Bill to bring his Halfwood press and his Printmaking Roadshow to Baker University; and then Bailey ordered No. 34 for himself.

He produced an exhibit based on the theme, "Small is Beautiful," including the art of five Halfwood Press owners and Bill's art.

Walt contributed the print (left) to the Small is Beautiful exihbit in conjunction with the four-day series on printmaking at Baker University and area schools. The right image is the woodblock for the print.

Below is a snapshot of Walt and his wife Barbara, our hosts in Kansas.
